Tokyo Fist - When Rage and Obsession Collide (Analysis/Video Essay)
The films of Shinya Tsukamoto are among the most intense and frantic, yet simultaneously avant-garde and exhilarating films ever put to celluloid, and Tokyo Fist is where he ultimately brings his kinetic style altogether. It drifts into excessive violence with an artistic direction that shows you a vision of Tokyo that captures a feeling of loneliness and hopelessness, and the main characters' obsession and their rage swallow them up as a result.

Rob Zombie's Halloween Duology - Exploring Anguish, Trauma, and Mental Deterioration (Video Essay)
Переглядів 12 тис.2 роки тому
In 2007, Rob Zombie was brought up at the helm to direct the remake of the John Carpenter classic, Halloween. The film was immediately met with backlash upon release and was critically panned. In spite of it, it was moderately successful. Two years later, a sequel was made, and was not only panned, but is proactively maligned by fans of the Halloween franchise. So, in this whole video essay, an...

Heathers: A Scathing Look At Teenage Life (Retrospective/Video Essay)
Переглядів 24 тис.3 роки тому
For this video, I decided to try a different approach. I decided to combine a retrospective and an analysis in one video. Heathers takes the feelings almost all of us go through in high school and amplifies them to almost psychotic proportions. But this is why the film is so appealing. Screenwriter Daniel Waters bitterly and hilariously uses satire to exaggerate the dramas of teen life - includ...

This is gold! Your analysis is so much better than what’s most popular now. Concentrate on the trauma that Cartman had in his mom. I am making a video now, Can I mention your name in it? I truly think that the reason of Eric’s attachment with his toys need to be said more! I really hope your video can get more attention it deserves!!

A misogynist can't look at himself in the mirror and so he falsely accused people of misandry. This film did nothing to call out the bigoted cult and tell them that they were wrong. In the false history about. It was just as misogynistic

It really would be saying that people who were against the m now white people are saying they're tired of a anti-white movie because the people were against

To be fair, this video was released almost 4 years ago, and the views are not entirely representative of how I view these issues now, in the sense that my views towards feminism are nowhere near as hostile, though I still think the film failed in its execution and completely fails to get you to empathize with any of the characters, especially when the characters are over-the-top representations (and I use that very lightly) of feminists and sexist men. Furthermore, I can’t tell if you’re being critical of me or the film itself, since your continuous comments are vague and feel incomplete. If I could go back and change anything about this video, I could’ve articulated my points better and not repeated myself as much. As for the film itself, people generally tend to appreciate nuanced discussion surrounding these types of issues in film, something this film utterly fails at (even feminists were, and still are, critical of the film). If your message takes hold over every other element in the film, then it feels less like a film and more like a Ted talk.

There is no anti-male agenda only a anti-anti female. It's the cult in the movie that had it and it brilliantly parodies exactly what the Roman Catholic church and traditional Judaism. You can't get that false Bible away from you people knock on your door, it's in the hotel. The people with this anti-female patriarchal religious cult has to come to the shelters. Youth center man or woman have to pay and pay and talk to her imaginary friend or you will burn in hell is in.

Excellent review. The part that stood out the most was how no one really cared about Heather Chandler at her funeral, and no one cared at Martha's failed attempt including that phony hippy teacher. Society is like Heathers. It's relatable. Most of us who are not and never were popular can see how fake everyone is. I was in high school when this came out. Graduated in 1990. Love this movie. 80s had the best movies I swear

The first suicide is kinda a mistake as its more JD not stopping Veronica when she accidently takes the drain cleaner cup that JD had jokingly made. This leads to the later suicides which are real murders. With Kirt & Ram being killed but JD lies kinda saying I lie in German as the name of the bullets. I firstly thought Luger for the name but later rewatches made me go like does he me I lie in German as I speak it a bit so I checked & thus I was right. Just genius writing that adds comedy to the scene if you know German. Also I'd say the movie is a tragic dramatic comedy. with it having some tragedy with the whole movie & there is clearly drama in the comedy. Also I love the dream murder Eskimo is just a perfect joke for it. Like at first it seems real but the dream is fully shown when he kills her & we see an odd funeral. The dream is kinda hinted at by the odd pacing but you may dismiss that. Also the end is just perfection.

Scream Queen 👑 I'd like 2 make my own point here since this is me And Kai's favorite movie (and I was young when I first saw this) I was 11 and wasn't in Highschool yet. But it told me what to look out 4. And no when me and Kai saw this we did not think like parents would "They're making suicide look like Its a cool thing to do." Why am I even bringing that up? Well because we're actually called The Veronica and JD of The Grunge Era. Now before we get into Anymore of that this made it So I didn't want 2 be a Heather, but I wanted 2 be Shannon Doherty (I'm a combo of her and Veronica) Why am I such a bitch? Because I can be.... I still go by that mantra today. 2nd okay this was the 80's it was a different time, and even though it's my favorite movie It's just a movie..... So calm the f🤬ck down! Nobody's gonna watch this and sign a petition to unknowingly blow up the school. It's just a movie! Don't ruin everyone's fun! Me and Kai are called The JD and Veronica of The Grunge Era because they're tragic characters (Veronica happens to be a writer) who fell in love and only started having a good life once they had each other (she decided to take the high road) But remember the last scene in the movie, You could see that she still loved him. And me and Kai had a Very similar story when we 1st Started seeing each other (It's in R Requim 4 a Dream remake, It's in our Memoirs (my movie called My So Called Life) Proving that Love can be tragic sometimes.....but that isn't a bad thing, anymore than this movie was a bad thing..... Mostly people don't like it cause either they don't understand it or because they wanna live in Their Shiny Happy People Crap (REM I Hate that song ,I only liked REM when they started losing their religion..... And I loved movies like Heathers in the 80's. I F🤬 cking Hate Jon Hugh's movies, I never wanted a birthday with 16 candles, or 2 be Pretty in Pink, No I was looking 4 JD in Highschool and it took me a long time to find him, cause I only met Kai 5 years ago, but I definitely got what I wanted when it comes to Kai whether other people like it or not
